This is a general guide of past projects. We will losely follow this structure and the projects will be updated as changes/additions are made.
Grading and Extensions
Grades – I do not typically post grades during the semster. If you are interested in how you are doing and what your grades are for specific projects, please schedule a time to meet with me to review your progress.
Extensions – I do not give extensions unless you have a family emergency, validated prolonged illness, or note from your dean. I do recommend that you turn in projects even if they are late. My policy is to reduce your project’s grade by 1 letter grade (ex. A becomes a B) for every week your project is late. As projects are submitted via the internet, there is no excuse for a late project and you should plan ahead accordingly if you are sick or are going to be in a location without an internet connection when you need to turn in an assignment. Don’t forget that at the end of the semester you have the opportunity to increase previous grades by re-editing and correcting/finishing projects when you turn them in as part of your final project. If you are going to turn in an assignment late, take the whole week up to the next class to work on the project and show me your best work.
Video Plagiarism Rule
You cannot use pre-edited footage cuts/transitions. You can use the clip leading up to the cut or the clip after the cut but not both clips with the pre-edited cut. If you want to use both the before and after cut clips as they are currently and sequentially, remove 6 seconds of footage centering your removal on the cut. You can use the two clips independently of each other, just not sequentially as they were originally edited (exception being the 6 second removal rule described previously). When in doubt, ask me for clarification on what you are trying to do.
Project Requirements
When you turn in your vidoes, be sure to include a screenshot of your timeline (premiere, after effect or any other program with significant work) as well. Both your video and the screenshot should have your name as part of the file name in a folder of your name, ZIPped and sent to me at least 2 hours before class using Dropbox.com, Google Drive or the like.
Title Screen
